Meet Dr Laurie Parman

I’m Dr. Laurie Parman. I taught for 30 years and then retired from District 300 just last year. I have
a master’s degree and a doctorate in Educational
Leadership.

In my observation our District 300 isn’t doing a
very good job of their primary mission - which is to
make sure that students can read and write and do
math at an acceptable level. To most people and
acceptable level would be about 80% proficiency.

Our district is well below that and in fact, it’s
under 50% in both math and literacy. It’s time to
give someone else a chance to make things better.
I’m running for the school board in District 300,
because I think we can do better, and I am just the
person help guide this district.
